Citrine is a variety of transparent quartz that ranges in color from a light yellow through orange to amber brown. The most popular colors of citrine are lemon yellow and golden yellow. It is the most popular gemstone in the yellow-orange color range. Historically it was believed that citrine would sharpen a person's ability to concentrate and be creative. It was also believed to guard against toxins and venoms.

Our tumble-polished citrine has a rich transparent golden color that beautifully blends with a milky white translucent quartz. It is sold in 1/4 pound, 1/2 pound and one pound bags. The picture above shows the contents representative of a 1/4 pound bag. Your stones will be similar in size, shape and color to the stones pictured above. They are perfect for a variety of jewelry and craft projects - or simply to admire.

Citrine is a very popular semiprecious stone. Transparent citrine is often faceted and used in rings, earrings and pendants. Less transparent to translucent stones are often cut into cabochons, beads or tumble-polished like the stones we sell here. Citrine is designated as a November birthstone and is also traditional gift on a 13-year anniversary. Much of the gemstone-quality citrine produced today is from Uruguay, Brazil, Spain and Madagascar.

Warning: Polished stones can be a choking hazard for small children.
