Chevron Amethyst Tumbler Rough
Chevron Amethyst Rough
This amethyst rough makes beautiful tumbled gemstones and is one of our all-time favorites!
It consists of quartz crystal fragments that exhibit alternating bands of purple amethyst and white to clear quartz. The amethyst is beautiful and ranges in color from a pale lilac to a deep, rich purple.
May pieces show the thin V-shaped bands of white quartz and purple amethyst that give this material its "cheVron" name.
Chevron amethyst tumbles well with other quartz, agate and jasper materials and takes a bright polish.
The elongated "dogtooth" pieces range from 1/2" (12 mm) to 2" (50 mm) in length. Photographed wet to show full color. |
