The Lortone Model QT6 rock tumbler is our personal favorite. It has a large six-pound barrel
that will tumble a nice amount of rock and will allow you to tumble some larger pieces. And, it is made of a soft rubber that runs with a
minimum amount of noise. We have one of these running in our home most of the time.
This machine is adequately powered. It has the same heavy-duty, maintenance-free motor used for
Lortone's twelve pound machines - so it will give many years of service and turn this six-pound
barrel without overloading. It also has a metal frame, metal drive shafts and durable construction.
The moving parts can easily be replaced if you should use the machine long enough to wear them out.
This is a great machine for the experienced person or a beginner who knows that the hobby will be

For Best Polishing Results:
If you are really serious about getting a high quality polish we recommend getting a separate barrel and using it exclusively for the polishing step. A dedicated barrel for polish (and a thorough cleaning of your rocks after the 600 grit step) will help avoid grit contamination of your polishing step. |
