Fluorite is a mineral that occurs in a variety of colors and can be tumbled into beautiful polished stones. The range of color in the specimens offered here is clear through shades of green, blue and purple with some color banding and zoning.
For sale are beautifully polished fluorite gemstones. These tumbled stones are sold in 4 ounce
(113 gram), 8 ounce (226 gram) and one pound (453 gram) bags. Your stones will be similar in size, shape and color to
the stones pictured above. They are perfect for a variety of jewelry and craft projects - or simply to admire.
Although tumbled fluorite is beautiful it must be used in craft and jewelry projects with caution. It is very soft - just four on the Mohs hardness scale - and it has perfect cleavage in four directions. This makes the mineral susceptible to being scratched or broken.
In jewelry it is best suited for earrings, pins and pendants that are unlikely to encounter abrasion or impact. For craft projects it is best placed in ornaments where it will not be subject to handling or wear
