Tumbled Chrysocolla

Treasure Bags! Velour pouches for storing
stones or giving them as gifts.
Chrysocolla is a vivid blue to blue-green mineral. It often forms in intimate association with chalcedony to yield a durable material that can be highly suitable for use as a gem. Chrysocolla chalcedony is one of the most sought-after varieties of chalcedony because of its unusual blue color.

Our tumbled chrysocolla is a beautifully-polished blue to blue-green chrysocolla blended as veins, bands and inclusions into a stable white chalcedony. This produces a beautiful blue-green stone that is slightly translucent. You can purchase it in 1/4 pound, 1/2 pound and one pound bags. The picture above shows the contents representative of a 1/4 pound bag. Your stones will be similar in size, shape and color to the stones pictured above. They are perfect for a variety of jewelry and craft projects - or simply to admire.

Chrysocolla chalcedony is not a commonly-seen gemstone, however, when it is displayed its vivid blue to blue-green color immediately attracts attention because naturally colored blue stones are unusual. Chrysocolla is often cut into beads and cabochons. Less often it is made in to small sculptures and carvings. In the United States chrysocolla if often found near the copper-producing areas of Arizona and Nevada. Other world sources include: Zaire, Russia, Chile and Mexico.

Warning: Polished stones can be a choking hazard for small children.
