The word "breccia" is used for a rock composed of angular fragments. Brecciated Jasper is a rock that has angular fragments of jasper naturally cemented into a solid mass. The "fragments" in the material sold here are mainly red jasper and the cementing material is a blend of darker-colored jasper and gray to clear quartz. Some pieces are transversed by quartz-filled fractures.
For sale are beautifully polished Brecciated Jasper gemstones. These tumbled stones are sold in 4 ounce (113 gram), 8 ounce (226 gram) and one pound (453 gram) bags.
